As we reflect on AngelTech 2026, one thing is very clear - this was our strongest and most complete event to date.
With record delegate attendance, a sold-out exhibition floor, and more than 120 speakers contributing across the programme, this year’s event didn’t just grow in size - it evolved in substance, relevance, and impact.
But what stands out most is not just the scale. It’s the quality of interaction, the level of collaboration, and the sense that the industries we serve are becoming more connected than ever before.
Built on a Clear Vision
AngelTech is now in its 16th year. When we launched the event, the objective was simple - to create a platform where specialist semiconductor communities could come together, meet face-to-face, share knowledge, and build partnerships. At the time, that platform didn’t really exist. What started as a focused, community-driven event has grown alongside the industries it represents, and in 2026 that evolution was on full display.
A Platform That Reflects Industry Convergence
This year marked a significant step forward with the addition of a fourth conference stream - Advanced Packaging International.
Bringing together:
- Compound Semiconductors
- Photonic Integrated Circuits
- Power Electronics
- Advanced Packaging
This has created a platform that now fully reflects how these industries operate in reality. Innovation no longer happens in isolation. It happens at the intersection of materials, devices, packaging, and systems. Having four industries together for three days creates a powerful environment for collaboration and business development. That was evident throughout the event - in the sessions, in the exhibition hall, and in the conversations happening between delegates.
Introducing the AngelTech Innovation Summit
We also introduced the AngelTech Innovation Summit on the Monday.
This was a natural progression from the previous Executive Strategy Summit, but with a broader and more forward-looking focus - creating space for strategic discussions around where the industry is heading and how organisations can position themselves within it. Alongside this, the new evening Rump Session added a different dynamic - informal, open, and highly engaging. It created an environment where conversations could continue beyond the agenda, often leading to deeper and more valuable exchanges.
Content That Matches the Pace of Change
Across all four conferences, the agenda reflected the speed and direction of the market.
Key themes included:
- GaN and SiC innovation in power electronics
- MicroLEDs and advanced laser technologies
- Silicon photonics, InP, and emerging materials
- AI-driven infrastructure and optical communications
- Packaging innovation and system-level integration
What was consistent throughout was the need for alignment across the value chain.
From materials through to systems, the discussions focused not just on innovation, but on how that innovation translates into real-world applications – particularly in AI, data centres, automotive, healthcare, and sensing.
Record Attendance - But More Importantly, Real Engagement
AngelTech 2026 welcomed:
- Over 800 attendees across the full event
- A sold-out exhibition floor
- Record participation across all conference streams
More importantly, the event delivered what it has always set out to achieve:
- Meaningful conversations
- High-value networking
- Genuine collaboration between companies and disciplines
This is not an event built around passive attendance. It is three days under one roof with potential partners, customers, and collaborators - and that is where the real value lies.
A Collective Effort
What isn’t always visible during the three days is the amount of work that goes into delivering an event of this scale. AngelTech is the result of a full year of planning, coordination, and continuous refinement, built over 16 years into the largest event we run as a business. It only works because of the collective effort across the entire team. Every department plays its part - from building the commercial pipeline, shaping the agenda, and driving delegate attendance, through to marketing, design, operations, and on-site delivery. We want to take this opportunity to thank the entire Angel team for the hard work, commitment, and professionalism that goes into making this event what it is. It was also particularly encouraging to see newer members of the team stepping into the event environment, contributing, and experiencing first-hand how everything comes together. The way the team collaborates during live days is a big part of what makes AngelTech successful.
Looking Ahead
AngelTech continues to grow because the industries we serve continue to evolve. The opportunity and responsibility is to keep building a platform that reflects that evolution and continues to bring the right people together. Planning is already underway, and I’m pleased to confirm that AngelTech 2027 will take place on 12-14 April 2027.
AngelTech has always been about connection - between people, technologies, and ideas. In 2026, we delivered that at a greater scale and with greater impact than ever before. And we’re only just getting started.
